Spaces and Workflow

Date:2020/3/4 14:48:18 Hits:

The Spaces feature in Mac OS X allows you to create virtual desktops for your computer that you can easily and quickly switch among using key commands or other methods. You can load a program into a particular Space, so that it’s fast and easy to navigate from program to program without your screen becoming cluttered.

Here’s a handy way to use Spaces when working with a DAW and audio interface. Many audio interfaces use their own software “console” for changing settings, changing mic gain, setting up routing, latency compensation, and so on. Open your DAW into a Space (say Space 1) then open your audio interface’s software console into another Space (say, Space 2).

Now, by hitting a key command, you can instantly switch to view whichever you need to see for making your interface settings or operating your DAW.
