Spectrasonics Announces New Standalone Apps
Spectrasonics has released standalone applications (Mac and Windows) of their award-winning Keyscape, Omnisphere 2, Trilian, and Stylus RMX virtual instruments. The big news for existing users is that these standalone versions are available as FREE updates for existing customers. These new apps will allow users to play Spectrasonics instruments without using a DAW. This is ideal for live musicians who rely on laptop setups for performances. The standalone apps are focused on quick access, ease of use, and the sound quality that you expect from Spectrasonics.
Spectrasonics also added a new remote control loading feature to the new Omnisphere 2.4 and Keyscape 1.1 updates. This feature will allow you to create custom setups for quick patch changes from a controller during live performances or from a DAW within a song. For users with a visual impairment, this is especially useful because they can now easily access sounds with physical buttons and controls. You can also select patches or multis using MIDI Program Changes or CC messages, or even by triggering Notes on the keyboard.
Spectrasonics’ new Smart Update for Omnisphere 2 and Keyscape now makes it easier to keep your collection of instruments up to date. Simply clicking “Get Updates” in the Splash Pane will take you to the new Smart Update page, where any updates needed to any instruments and libraries in your User Account will be automatically compiled into a single download. So you can run a single installer and update your entire Spectrasonics system!
