How to Connect VGA to an HDMI TV

Cabling technology doesn't evolve at the same lightning pace as computer hardware, but it does change over time. Older computers and CRT televisions transferred video through VGA cables. Those cables are no longer used in newer electronics because analog signals have been replaced by advanced digital technology. Changing a VGA signal into one that an HDMI input can recognize isn't easy; simply placing different connectors at both ends of a cord won't work. You will need a VGA-to-HDMI conversion box to convert the analog output from the source into a digital input signal.

Things You'll Need
•VGA-to-HDMI converter box

•HDMI audio cable

Instructions
1.Plug the VGA cord into the output port on your computer and the VGA input port on the converter box. If you want to transfer sound to the HDMI connection, you will also need to connect a supported audio cable between the computer and the converter box.
2.Connect one end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI port on the HDTV. Connect the other end to the HDMI port on the converter box.
3.Plug the converter box into an electrical outlet and switch on the device.
4.Turn on the computer and the HDTV.
5.Change the source settings on the HDTV until you the input from the HDMI port displays. Most television remote controls have an "Aux" or "Input" button that can be used to change the input source.
