The week began with the announcement from Beasley that WHFS/Tampa would apply for new call letters (WBRN) and re-launch as Bubba-98.7. It's 24/7 Bubba, with round the clock Bubba the Love Sponge bits, along with Bubba and his crew voice-tracking the rest of the dayparts on WHFS.

Beasley Market Manager Market Manager Kent Dunn expands on the news of Bubba 98.7 on Monday with some insight into the new station and its format. Dunn notes that with Bubba the Love Sponge's familiarity with the Tampa market, Bubba is uniquely qualified to brand the station and even help out with some of the programing decisions on the station. Dunn goes on to say that the total branding of Bubba 98.7 is indeed the long-term plan for the station, and the continuation of Bubba and the morning show talent voice tracking the station throughout the day will soldier on into the foreseeable future.
