FORMER A.G. TO KEYNOTE RADIO INK CONFERENCE

Date:2015/1/29 11:03:50 Hits:
Highest-Ranking Hispanic U.S. Official in History to Speak at Hispanic Radio Conference. Radio Ink is pleased to announce that former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will keynote the Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference, being held in Dallas on March 4-5. Gonzales holds the distinction of having held the highest post in U.S. government ever held by an individual of Hispanic heritage, having served from 2005-2007 as a Cabinet member under President George W. Bush.

Gonzales' presence at the conference is a signal of Hispanic radio's importance during this time of uncertainty regarding immigration matters and the ever-more-influential Hispanic vote.

Radio Ink Publisher B. Eric Rhoads says, "This is a major feather in the cap for Hispanic radio when a prominent leader like Gonzales takes time out of his incredibly busy schedule to address the community of Hispanic radio stations. This shows just how important Hispanic radio is on the political scene today. He is also the highest-ranking government official to ever keynote any Radio Ink conference."

President Bush named Alberto Gonzales to lead the Department of Justice in 2005, stating that "Al has been a model of courage and character to his fellow citizens." Before entering public service, Gonzales practiced business law for 13 years at the Houston law firm of Vinson & Elkins. In 1995, he resigned his law partnership to serve as general counsel to the Governor of Texas and after three years was appointed Texas Secretary of State. He was named to the Texas Supreme Court in 1999 and elected by the citizens of Texas to serve a full six-year term in the November 2000 general election. He served in the White House as counsel to the president from 2001-2005. Gonzales is an Air Force veteran, and attended the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Streamline Publishing EVP Deborah Parenti says, "Judge Gonzales' unique insight on a variety of issues facing the country should provide thought provoking conversation among the Hispanic radio community and its leadership gathered at the Hispanic Radio Conference in Dallas this year."

This will be a historic appearance by a top U.S. official at the radio industry's only conference devoted to Hispanic radio. Don't miss it: Register now!
