Pro Tools Tip: Use Key Commands to Select Track Views

Date:2020/3/7 10:16:23 Hits:

The Pro Tools Edit window is laid out to allow you to access nearly everything you’ll need graphically, but power users know that to really fly around the interface, you’ll want to memorize key commands. One example is selecting track views. For each track you can switch among viewing waveform, volume, mute, pan, send levels, playlists, and so on by using the View Selector Button. However, a much faster method to scroll among all the track views is to select a region in a track and then press Command + Control (Mac) or Control + Start (Windows) and then use the left and right arrow keys. You can even use this to affect all track views by adding Option (Mac) or Alt (PC) to the above key command combination.

Key command usage is often what separates the amateurs from the pros when it comes to flying around DAWs like Pro Tools. You’ll thank yourself if you take time to learn the keyboard shortcuts for your most frequently used commands.
