The Monitor 8 comprises, in a single rackspace unit, a 24x16x8 monitor mixer, a six-channel headphone amp, a USB/AVB audio interface with 48-channel console-style mixing, and DSP effects.

The Monitor 8 can function standalone, without a computer, as a mixer and headphone amps. There are eight stereo pairs of outputs, so can connect main and secondary speakers (PA or studio monitors) and still have six independent headphone feeds from the front or back panel. Eight balanced line ins drive everything, plus you can run dual ADAT optical ins for 16 inputs (up to 48kHz sample rate) or 8 inputs (high sample rates). Need even more connectivity? Just hook up another MOTU AVB-compatible interface with a single ethernet cable and keep rockin’! With AVB, you get sub-millisecond latency (meaning latency is non-existent) and you can run hundreds of channels for massive rigs.

The audio quality of the Monitor 8 is top-notch, with state-of-the-art converters and onboard 32-bit DSP processing. And, you can take charge of the whole thing using MOTU’s web app. Plus, Monitor 8 includes MOTU’s AudioDesk workstation software to get you up and recording fast.
