Should I Use the 32-bit or 64-bit Version of Ableton Live?

Date:2020/3/4 16:26:52 Hits:

Q: I just purchased Ableton Live 9 Suite. Should I install the 32-bit version of the software or the 64-bit version? What are the advantages of the 64-bit version?

A: According to Ableton, the only difference between the two versions is that the 64-bit version can access an almost unlimited amount of your computer’s memory; the 32-bit version (like all 32-bit software) can access up to 4GB of RAM. This can make a difference if you are loading and using large sample libraries or RAM-intensive virtual instruments. A minimum of 8GB of RAM is recommended for the 64-bit version and your OS must support 64-bit applications. (This means Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 on a PC, or Mac OS X 10.5 or higher on an Intel-based Mac.)
