Avid introduced three new Pro Series plug-ins for Pro Tools 10 HD Native and Pro Tools 10 HDX that support the AAX DSP and AAX Native formats on Mac and Windows.
Pro Compressor is based on the dynamics section of the Avid Channel Strip plug-in, and emulates the characteristics of the much-renowned Avid/Euphonix System 5 console. Pro Compressor features a unique SMART mode that optimizes compression using four advanced detectors for transparent dynamics processing. Other features include sidechain control, solo for monitoring the processed sound, mix for blending dry signal and parallel compression, fast and accurate PPM metering, surround channel linking, and more.
Pro Expander is also based on the Avid Channel Strip plug-in and System 5 console and delivers high-energy mixes and tracks while eliminating unwanted noise. Features include look-ahead mode to preserve transients, upward mode for increased dynamics, four advanced detectors, sidechain control, solo for monitoring the processed sound, mix for blending dry signal and parallel expansion, fast and accurate PPM metering, surround channel linking, and more.
Pro Limiter is an all-new plug-in designed to maximize mix and track levels without affecting sound quality. A unique Character knob allows for more signal level and gain reduction without digital artifacts. Other features include EBU R128 broadcast spec loudness metering, full 7.1 surround support, surround channel linking, and more.
