Universal Audio has updated UAD software to version 8.3. This version adds artist presets in the Precision Mix Rack Collection, as well as introducing several new plug-ins.

First up are the new Ampeg SVT-VR and SVT-3 bass amp plug-ins (available separately or as the Ampeg Bass Amplifier Plug-in Bundle). Developed by Brainworx, these plug-ins provide two distinctive SVT flavors, expertly modeled exclusively for UAD hardware and Apollo interfaces. The SVT-VR recreates the legendary tone and power of the legendary 300-watt monster all-tube amp, while the SVT-3 emulates the hybrid tube/solid-state tones and feel of the modern rackmount SVT.

Designed by Softube the Tube-Tech EQ Plug-in Collection features emulations of two high-end Tube-Tech tube-based hardware EQs, the PE1C Program Equalizer and the ME1B Mid Equalizer. Based on the classic Pultec EQs, these new plug-ins provide rich and musical tone contouring and scuplting, delivering the response and vibe only available with a true Pultec EQ.

Launched in the late 1960s, the AKG BX 20 spring reverb combined mechanical and electronic components to deliver a unique, versatile spring reverb that far exceeded the capabilities and limitations of “traditional” spring reverbs. Just like the original hardware, in the plug-in dual “tanks” allow for varied tones, from dark and dense to open and lush, with stereoized options, and BX10 Baxandall-style tone controls, with the addition of modern extras such as dry/wet blend, low-cut filter, and control over decay time, volume, blend, and predelay. The BX 20 plug-in includes artist presets from Patrick Carney (Black Keys), Vance Powell (Jack White), Jacquire King (Kings of Leon), and more.
