Podcasting Tip: Try a Lavalier Mic

Podcasting has never been easier. Thanks to carrying a complete computer in your pocket (or a tablet, if you’re so inclined) you don’t even need to have a computer anymore! And there is a lot of gear that is perfect for podcasting because it’s battery or USB powered (or both).

One such option is microphones. There are a lot of great USB mics today, but what if you’re just recording a spoken-word podcast? In this case, or if you’re doing an interview, consider using a lavalier microphone. These clip onto the speaker’s clothing and are very good at capturing just the speaker’s voice. You can get wired and wireless lavs, at all price points. They’re great for many podcasting applications!
