Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) has released Chromaphone 2, the latest version of their creative percussion synthesizer. With a new streamlined GUI and powerful new features, Chromaphone 2 is even more capable of producing percussion sounds from traditional and familiar to unique and otherworldly. Marimba, electronic drums, PVC pipes, water droplets, chimes, plates, and plucked piano strings are all available from Chromaphone 2’s physical modeling sound engine, along with endless bleeps, bloops, and blips. Built-in effects and real-time parameter control contribute to the flexibility and allow for authentic instrument performance and production. An arpeggiator with tempo sync brings your instruments to life, while 32-bit internal processing and sample rates up to 192kHz ensure stellar sound quality.

Chromaphone 2 is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows, under the AAX Native, RTAS, VST, and AU plug-in formats. Chromaphone 2 can also operate standalone.
