Shift MIDI Notes to Compensate for Slow Synth Attack

Date:2020/2/7 16:38:18 Hits:

Ever had a favorite synth sound, but the attack is just a bit slow? When you use that patch to record, it always sounds like it’s playing late compared to the drums, etc. You might be tempted to adjust the attack of the synth patch to make it faster, but that may alter the tone that you like so much. Another option is to record a MIDI track of your synth performance, then shift the MIDI notes earlier in your DAW to compensate for the slow attack. This lets the synth note peak in time, even if the initial attack (which is not very audible) is a little early.
