When I first took the Monomachine out of the box, I was happy to discover a solid brushed aluminum casing which is sure to make it a roadworthy addition to any rig. The idea of programming synth sounds on a sequencer was somewhat alien to me, but soon I was able to take advantage of all that the Monomachine offered. I began by plugging in my headphones and quickly programming a standard bass line. The easy-to-read display and knobs offered a simple way to tweak the sounds. With the parameter lock, I was able to morph the plain bass line into a bass line that felt alive with movement. In addition to the bass line, I was able to add five more parts thanks to the 6-track sequencer built in. After working with the Monomachine for what felt like 30 minutes, I realized that over two hours had passed!

The Monomachine is a powerful tool for anyone looking for a simple way to get some amazing sounds and sequences. It would be great for any DJ, since you have the ability to plug turntables in and tweak the sounds of the records as well as compose new sequences to go along with them. With its MIDI connections, this is a nice piece to integrate into any MIDI rig. The Monomachine can just as easily be a great purchase for someone looking to learn about synthesis and sequencing.
