I had been in the market for a tabletop synth for some time, but was hesitant about acquiring yet another hardware piece for my collection. As an avid virtual synthesis user, I was intrigued by all the benefits the Plugiator has to offer, especially the ability to access and utilize multiple patches via the hardware interface.

Unlike other standalone virtual synthesizers, the Plugiator gave me the advantage of not having to move back and forth from my laptop and keyboard to select a new sound or control a sound that I was currently working with, allowing me to focus more on music creation rather than programming. The Plugiator’s accompanied Plug-in Manager software acts as the “nerve center” between the computer and the hardware interface. From there, I was able to choose from hundreds of presets that come standard, tweak sounds and save them to recall later, and I was even able to record in my favorite recording application.

The Plugiator’s virtual circuit modeling sets it apart from other virtual synthesizers that use software emulation, giving it a real sound and feel quality that any synth player will surely enjoy!
