How to Pan a Mix with In-Ear Monitors
Date:2020/1/18 9:49:37 Hits:
Since in-ear monitors cut out a lot of noise, especially on a loud stage, you can really take advantage of the clear sound and use panning to get your mix just right. If you are a drummer, try placing the instruments of the band in same way as you see them in front of you. If the guitarist is on the right, place his sound on the right and do the same with the keyboards if there is one. A good trick for drummers is to pan the bass guitar just a little off center. Then your kick drum will really stand out.
No matter what instrument you play in the band, the key is to spread the sounds across the stereo spectrum so they do not compete with each other in the center of your mix. This way everything will sound much clearer for you — and that makes it much easier to hear what you and your band is doing.
