Arturia expanded their keyboard controller line at Musikmesse with the new KeyLab 88, an 88-note keyboard controller and hybrid synthesizer solution. Like its siblings in the KeyLab family, the KeyLab 88 comes with Analog Lab, Arturia’s software synth, which contains more than 5,000 presets drawn from the company’s family of amazing analog synth emulations, including the Mini V, Modular V, CS-80V, Jupiter-8V, Prophet V, and Oberheim SEM V, as well as the Wurlitzer V virtual electric piano.
In addition to 88 hammer-action, touch-sensitive keys, the KeyLab 88 features a removable non-slip laptop/lead synth stand (perfectly sized for an Arturia MiniBrute Analog synthesizer), a built-in music stand (also ideal to hold for an iPad), 16 backlit pressure-sensitive pads, an array of knobs, switches, and sliders, and an informative LED screen — with all that hands-on and visual responsiveness, the KeyLab 88 is designed to realize Arturia’s vision of the immediacy of a hardware synth combined with the flexibility of a software synth.
Arturia also unveiled the MiniBrute SE, a special edition version of the popular analog lead synth. The MiniBrute SE features a brushed aluminum casing with wooden end-panels. An all-new step sequencer has also been added with six pattern sequences with up to 64 steps each. Playback mode, gate length, and swing can all be set. Only 2,000 MiniBrute SEs will be released world wide.
