FM companies launch their own radio station for BBC Children In Need
Date:2015/11/20 10:31:12 Hits:
With the annual BBC Children in Need appeal taking place today, London’s leading tech companies are finding inventive ways to raise money – and to have some fun at the same time.At a recent charity auction run by NJW Ltd in aid of Oxfam, the biggest prize was the opportunity for the winners to launch their very own in-house radio station for a day. After a successful bid in the auction, a group of leading facilities management companies in London are collaborating to turn the day into a fantastic fundraising opportunity. ‘CINfm’ will be broadcast live from Newbury in Oxfordshire, straight to the offices of some of London’s most prestigious workplaces, and employees are planning to get fully into the spirit of the day.
One of the companies throwing themselves into the fundraising effort is Condeco Software, an award-winning workplace management company. Today will see the office transformed as employees swap business dress for fancy dress, and get involved in a number of team spirited activities, all in aid of Children in Need. Condeco team members will be able to buy delicious cakes to accompany their mid-morning coffee, as the company also plans a pot-luck lunch as part of the fundraising day. And accompanying it all will be the tones of CINfm, broadcast in Condeco’s offices throughout the day. Staff will be able to pick up their office phones to make an extremely important call – to request that CINfm plays their favourite song!
Paul Statham, CEO and founder of Condeco Software, commented:
“Once Condeco had successfully bid for the radio station, it presented a perfect opportunity to raise some much needed money for Children in Need, which does such important work with vulnerable children in London and across the country. Our company is all about improving collaboration and engagement within the workplace, and the plans for Friday – the radio launch, fancy dress, , the bake sale – provide a lovely way to bring people together and engage our team with this fantastic appeal, raising some much needed money along the way. Amongst all the fun and novelty I hope that we remember the importance of the cause and the part we can all play – and how much we can achieve when we work together.”
Condeco is collaborating with five other companies, including InMedia, F1 Facilities Management, NJW, Planon and Generate UK to produce CINfm. The money raised by these companies will go towards many life changing projects in London, such as Centre 404, a youth club for children with learning disabilities, and Haven House, which provides care to children with life-limiting conditions.
