How to Set Up an Antenna for a Local TV Station

Date:2015/1/31 11:34:36 Hits:
Although television antennas are not used to obtain programming found on cable services, the device is helpful when obtaining local TV stations through over-the-air broadcasts. This is because local stations do not scramble their programming signal so it is possible for anyone with an antenna connected to their television to receive their broadcasts. Although the exact direction your antenna needs to be pointed is going to vary, depending on the station, the main process of receiving the reception stays the same.

Instructions
1.Connect the antenna to the television. Insert the coaxial cable running out the antenna into the "In" port on the back of the TV.

2.Plug the antenna into a local power outlet, if it is an electrical based antenna. These antennas tend to receive stronger signals from local TV stations, thus improving its reception.

3.Power on the television and the connected antenna. Select the local channel you want to watch.

4.Turn the antenna so the television picks up the best reception for the station. This does change from station to station, but eventually you are going to learn exactly how to locate the best reception for each station.
