How to Make a FM Transmitter Antenna

Date:2014/8/1 11:44:39 Hits:

The basic purpose of an antenna is to increase the receptive power of the device it’s attached to. You can make a simple FM antenna that will increase the reception of any FM receiver that has an antenna port as part of its construction. You will need a few parts from a hobby or electronic store and some experience in using a soldering iron to properly make the FM antenna--however, no electrical skill is required .

Instructions

1.Measure out 3 feet of the electric wire from the spool. Cut the electric wire using the wire cutters.

2.Unscrew the black plastic insulator plug off of the 2.5mm phone plug.

3.Strip off 1/2 inch of insulation from the end of the electric wire using the wire strippers.

4.Cut a 1-inch piece of the heat shrink tubing with the scissors. Push the piece of heat shrink tubing over the end of the wire that has just been stripped.

5.Solder the end of the wire to the inner terminal on the 2.5mm phone plug that has the wire hole in it.

6.Slide the heat shrink tubing down over the inner connector. Screw the black plastic insulator back onto the the 2.5mm phone plug.

7.Plug the 2.5mm phone plug into the antenna port of the FM device. Unfurl the electric wire.
