Make an FM transmitter using a damaged FM head
Make an FM transmitter using a damaged FM head
It’s always exciting to me when DIY some electronic things using the second hand or even damaged parts. This time I’ll share a funny experience, using FM head(the high amplifying part is damaged) to make an FM transmitter.
The FM head is a Mizi Mi FM head, of course, you can also use the local oscillator output FM head.During the production,we only use the local oscillator part, so it doesn’t matter even the amplifying part and mixer is not working. In actual use, the local oscillator rarely got damaged,so usually we can use a damaged FM head to make FM transmitter.
Using this Mizi Mi FM radio head to make the FM transmitter(shown in Figure 1). You only need to get the components of the original FM head removed, then add some other components as shown in figure 1. Use 50cm telescopic antenna, or you can also use soft wire as antenna. VD1 and VR1 part should be using as high quality componets as it can to ensure the stability of the Frequency. After welding, input VCD audio ginao in AUDIO part, then use a FM radio(the digital display is better) to find a frequency that is not occupied by local radio stations, turn VR1, you’ll receive signal. Then adjust VR2 to adjust the volume to a proper value, by now you can receive very clear signals from the transmitter within 20meters distance. Even if you touch the transmitting antenna, the frequency is still stable. Thus a high quality FM transmitter comes out.
If you want to make a FM wireless microphone, just add the diagram as shown in figure 2, then you’ll get a high performance wireless microphone.
