Overview
The AARON 650 is Inovonics' new-generation FM relay receiver designed to handle the most challenging signal reception problems. The AARON 650 combines unparalleled reception performance with advanced features to deliver superior signal sensitivity and signal selectivity over the best commercial and residential receivers on the market.

AARON has two modes of operation, either through or in regenerative mode. The pass-through mode eliminates the delay of retransmissions, while the regenerative mode provides the ability to completely rebuild the baseband signal, adding a new RDS, eliminating noise and interference.

The back panel provides dual antenna inputs, dual composite outputs, balanced analog output and AES digital audio output and remote IP access. The instrument automatically records and checks for audio loss, RF signal loss, and RDS loss (or “hijacking”) and alerts. When any alarm is triggered, the instrument will automatically send an email or short message to the relevant personnel. The front panel displays the left and right audio meters, and the LCD screen flashes an alarm. The knobs on the panel are used to set various parameters on the adjustment LED screen. Failover audio backups are available through the front panel SD card or network audio stream.

The AARON650's real-time web interface allows you to set up your instrument, listen to live audio or view your recordings from anywhere on the phone or on your phone. A reliable network system based on dynamic DNS ensures unimpeded data transmission between the PC and the instrument. Comes with advanced audio signal metering tools, including real-time MPX spectrograms and full-band scanning. Receive bandwidth, auto-tuning and many other receiver parameters can be handled manually or automatically.

Rear panel interface:

Antenna input: Two 50 ohm (N) inputs can be assigned to any preset station.
Digital signal output: AES3 (XLR) 24-bit stereo output can be adjusted according to the corresponding ±75 carrier frequency offset, with or without de-emphasis, ranging from -30dBFS and 0dBFS. The output sample rate can be set to 32kHz, 44.1 or 48kHz.
Analog signal output: Active balance (XLR) bit stereo output can be adjusted according to the corresponding ±75 carrier frequency offset, with or without de-emphasis, ranging from -20dBu to + 18dBu (+ 15.5dBm). The source impedance is 200 ohms.
Composite / MPX output: Two unbalanced (BNC) bit stereo outputs can be adjusted according to the corresponding ±75 carrier frequency offset, with or without de-emphasis, independently adjustable range from 1V P-P to 6V P-P. The source impedance is 75 ohms.
USB interface: Provides raw RDS data for analysis.
Network port: RJ45 interface, accepts TCP / IP network protocol, can set up and run monitoring of AARON 650 remotely.
Headphone jack: The TRS interface headphone jack is used to listen to the output program for verification.


Audio failover protection:

In case of loss of input carrier, audio signal, or RDS "hijacking". The output can be replaced with a pre-recorded program. Programs can be obtained from a plug-in SD card or on the web's audio stream.


Audio processing function:

Whether in pass-through or MPX regeneration mode, up to 3dB of clipping can be added to define the most appropriate FM deviation limit. The 19 kHz stereo pilot and the 57 kHz RDS subcarrier will be stripped, filtered, and then re-inserted after clipping.


User Interface:

Front panel: LCD and knob provide convenient and reliable menu operation, LED "VU" meter is used to display L / R audio strength.
Software Control: The IP network port enables the AARON 650 to be remotely set up and operated on a local network or any external network using a desktop, tablet or mobile phone.
SNMP: SNMP remote monitoring support.
